Quality & Testing

Consistent fabric, order after order.

Performance fabric is only useful if it repeats. We build quality control into every stage — from incoming yarn to the final inspected roll.

Quality control

Checked at every stage, not just at the end.

Because Trustex controls development and knitting directly, defines processing and finishing parameters, and inspects the final fabric, we can catch variation early — keeping weight, width, shade and hand within spec across the run and repeat orders.

  • Incoming yarn checks

Yarn is verified before it reaches the machine, so the build starts right.

  • In-line monitoring

GSM, width and construction are watched during knitting and finishing.

  • Roll-by-roll inspection

Every roll is inspected for faults and shade before it's packed for dispatch.

Quality workflow

From input to inspected roll.

The control plan follows the fabric from development through processing and dispatch, with requirements agreed against the buyer brief.

  1. Yarn / inputVerify the starting material against the intended construction.
  2. DevelopmentSet construction, GSM, width, stretch and finish targets.
  3. Greige approvalReview the knitted base before bulk processing.
  4. Processing specificationDefine dyeing and finishing parameters for the required result.
  5. Finished GSM / widthCheck the finished fabric against agreed targets and tolerances.
  6. Shade / performance testingApply buyer-specific test methods or third-party testing where required.
  7. Roll inspectionInspect the finished fabric before packing.
  8. DispatchRelease the approved rolls with the required documentation.

Compliance & documentation

Specify the requirement before bulk.

Buyer requirements vary by market, garment and end use. We prefer to define the required fabric specification, testing or documentation before production rather than make blanket compliance claims that may not apply to every quality.

  • Fabric specification

GSM, width, composition, construction, stretch, finish and agreed commercial parameters are captured against the selected quality.

  • Third-party testing & reports

Third-party testing/reports can be arranged or provided where applicable against the agreed test method and production specification. If your buyer requires a named method, performance threshold or fresh independent report, include it in the brief. Suitable laboratories may include SGS, NITRA, the Wool Research Institute and other recognised textile-testing laboratories, as applicable.

  • Responsible production through control

Trials before bulk and defined processing parameters reduce avoidable re-runs, rework and wasted production.
